Applies to compa v1 (the version without accounts or cloud sync) · Versión en español

Draft under legal review. Published for reference while review under Panama's Law 81 of 2019 is completed. The Spanish version prevails.

Who we are

compa is an app by intCoders, based in Panama City, Panama ("we", "us"). compa is a care journal for the adults who care for a child with autism, ADHD, or similar conditions: it helps you log moments, meds, and appointments, and arrive at every consultation with the story clear.

This policy explains, with no fine print, what data the app handles, where it lives, and what rights you have. We wrote it to be understood — if anything is unclear, write to us.

The core idea: your data lives on your phone

In this version of compa there are no accounts, no servers of ours, and no cloud. Everything you log is stored only in your device's memory:

None of this is transmitted to intCoders or to anyone else. We cannot see it, read it, or recover it — it never passes through our hands. If you delete the app or lose your phone without a device backup, that data is gone; that is the flip side of only you having it.

Medication reminders are scheduled locally on your phone; they work without internet and send information to no one.

The only thing that leaves your phone: crash reports

To be able to fix the app when it breaks, we use Sentry, an error-reporting service acting as a processor on our instructions. If the app crashes, a technical report is sent containing:

What a crash report never contains: the text of your moments, medication names, photos, documents, or your child's name or data. We configure the tool specifically to exclude that content.

Reports travel encrypted (TLS) and are deleted automatically under Sentry's retention (90 days by default). We do not use them for advertising or profiling — only to fix bugs.

If you leave us your email on the waiting list

On compa.care you can ask for a spot to try the app. If you do, we store only your name and your email on our server, for one purpose: writing to you when a spot opens. This is separate from the app — it is not connected to your child's data, which still lives only on your phone.

About your child's data

compa is designed to be used by adults who provide care. It is not directed at minors and is not meant to be used by children. The information about your child that you record in the app belongs to you and your family:

We believe a child's health data belongs to their family, and the app's architecture is built on that conviction: the strongest privacy guarantee is that the data never leaves your phone.

Permissions the app asks for

When cloud sync arrives (does not apply yet)

We are building an optional feature to back up your journal and share it with your family (your partner, grandparents, the nanny). This section will apply only when that feature launches, and only if you choose to turn it on. When it arrives:

Your rights

Because almost everything lives on your device, you already have direct control: you can view, edit, export (device backup), or erase your data by clearing the app's content or uninstalling it.

Regarding crash reports, and in line with Panama's Law 81 of 2019 on Personal Data Protection and equivalent laws, you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of the data Sentry holds associated with the installation identifier, and raise any question or complaint by writing to us. You may also complain to your country's data protection authority (in Panama, ANTAI).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will publish the new version at this same address with its update date. If the change is significant (for example, the launch of sync), we will give notice inside the app before it takes effect.
